Tell us something most people won't know about you

I help run an adult's special needs football team called The Basingstoke Strikers with my husband and brothers. We have been running the club for over three years and we are all passionate about it. The team players have become a big part of our life. We train every Saturday and then run an annual tournament in August where we are joined by about 10 special needs teams from all over the country who come to compete, and we raise money to keep our club going.

What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?

Arranging my grandad's 90th birthday party in September. He was one of 13 children and there are only two of them left, so it was a huge surprise when he arrived and saw his sister and all his nieces and nephews. It was a very emotional day.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Alison Steadman.

Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to spend some time with Colin Brown, MD of Softcat. He invited me into his organisation so I could understand more about their culture. I came away with so many thoughts, ideas and was very inspired by what they have created.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Scented candles and roses. I really am like Elton John.

What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?

‘Digital detox'. Really?

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

To double nurses' pay.

What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?

It's not really untapped, but digital transformation is probably the biggest opportunity facing the channel at the moment. The untapped bit is about doing it properly and getting to the heart of what the customer wants to achieve.

What is your most treasured possession?

My husband and my home.

What do your family think you do all day?

Ignore their calls and then text to say I'm in a meeting.

Who has been your mentor in business?

It is amazing how many people want to help guide you when you show that you are interested, committed and want to learn. I've had some great mentors at different stages throughout my career and I can't single one out. I have learnt so much from them all in different ways. You know who you are, so thank you!
