Tell us something most people won't know about you

I grew up on a British military base in Germany.

What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?

It's been a year to remember, but watching Scooter live in Stuttgart for my brother's 40th birthday is definitely up there, along with a huge amount of great days and fun times with family and in the business.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Probably either Sacha Baron Cohen, Ricky Gervais or Steve Coogan.

Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?

QURED. The Uber of healthcare. Doctor to your door in less than two hours. It's the future.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Crisps, crisps and more crisps. The paprika ones from M&S are a favourite right now.

What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?

‘AI'. It's overused.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

A second Brexit referendum, now that people actually know a little more about the potential consequences of their actions.

What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?

Probably taking on Martin Hellawell at tennis while he has a bit of a dodgy Achilles.

What is your most treasured possession?

Possessions are generally a burden, so good health and fun experiences take priority.

What do your family think you do all day?

Boss everyone about.

Who has been your mentor in business?

I've been fortunate to have several. A well-known ‘dad of the channel' and Ian Caston, my first boss are among them.
