Mike Danson

CEO, Natilik

Tell us something most people won't know about you

I was invited to attend the Royal School of Music when I was 12.

What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?

As a business, completing our 10th successive year of growth. And personally, finally finishing a long house renovation project.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

My long-lost cousin Ted Danson.

Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?

What Space X are doing is pretty cool and my kids are fascinated by ‘reusable rockets'.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

A full-English breakfast.

What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?

‘AI'. Everything now seems to have some form of artificial intelligence.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

To sort out Brexit.

What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?

Helping clients adopt all the technology they continue to buy.

What is your most treasured possession?

My foam roller. I'm training for a half-marathon at the moment and I wouldn't be able to walk after some of the long runs without a post-run roll.

What do your family think you do all day?

My 11 and 9-year-old daughters' response was: "Boring phone calls, emails, video calls and meetings (where you talk nonsense)." Charming! It's hard to compete with a wife who is a doctor who "makes people better"!

Who has been your mentor in business?

I've taken advice from a huge number of people over the years and continue to seek feedback wherever I can get it.
