Calculating the size of BT's reseller activities is now a guessing game following its decision to roll a clutch of its relevant businesses - namely BT Business Direct, Dabs, Engage IT and iNet - into the wider group. Totting up these various interests, as well as the IT product resale and related services activities conducted by BT Global Services, BT Northern Ireland (which has a stranglehold in the public sector) and various other units, we would venture that BT is a £1bn VAR juggernaut. BT and EE officially turned over £24bn last year, and with convergence between comms and IT only accelerating, we would be surprised if IT resale and related services doesn't represent a growing chunk of that amount.
