What has been your business highlight of 2022?
Hosting the first women in tech in-person post-Covid event to inspire and educate in our UK community. The feedback on the positive impact we had for so many women was outstanding and heartwarming. The ripple effect this will have for so many lives always energises me to want to do more.
If you were ruler of your own country, what law would you introduce first?
Enhanced responsibilities for technology companies for safeguarding children on social media platforms.
Which channel or tech leader (outside of your own company) has impressed you most in 2022?
Pamela Maynard, Avanade CEO. While running a global technology company, her focus on constant change and improvements to enhance the work life balance, culture and care for employees is inspiring to see.
If you had a warning label, what would it say?
"Warning: hang out with me long enough and I will have you believing anything is possible for yourself!"
What was your first job?
Sales assistant at Unipart.
What was the last book you read, and was it any good?
F*cked at 40 by Tova Leigh. A raw and uplifting read that promises to shock you, make you smile and laugh out loud.
What's the most important lesson you've learned from another business leader or mentor?
Trust your gut instinct and if on occasion it's wrong, acknowledge it and change course fast.
