What's the most surprising lesson 2024 has taught you so far?
That this world continues to be so unpredictable and we cannot take it for granted. This year we’ve seen some of the worst floods in centuries in parts of the UK and Europe, we’ve seen the impact of AI and the energy and power demands that come with it – all further justification as to why sustainability is critical to long term strategies for us all.
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?
Love that question… Nelson Mandela - what a story, what strength and what an inspiration.
Which tech or channel figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?
Satya Nadella – I saw him speak at an event this year, which was a first for me, and I’ve so much admiration for his story and his impact as CEO.
What technology trend do you think is being overhyped, and why?
Quantum computing – purely because it feels like it's been talked up for so long, but yet to really come to fruition.
If you were stranded on a deserted island but could have one piece of tech with you, what would it be?
My phone – don’t get me wrong I can happily live without it at times, but for communication with loved ones, some entertainment, and a torch its got to be my iPhone. Can I have a solar charger too please!?
What's your go-to productivity hack that keeps you on track during a busy day?
I’ve always tried to be pretty well-organised – using my inbox as my to-do list, but good diary management has now long been the most critical thing for me to prioritise time for the important things – at work and at home!
If you had the time to learn one new skill, what would it be?
To play the guitar – maybe I could take that with me to my desert island too!?
