Hayley Roberts
CEO, Distology
What's the most surprising lesson 2024 has taught you so far?
That, no year is ‘the’ year and small positive changes make all the difference. We just have to keep on trucking! The best is yet to come, certainly for us at Distology.
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?
Elizabeth 1. Born into a job, surrounded by idiots and still managed to reign for longer than most people lived at that time. Would love to know her secret.
Which tech or channel figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?
Honestly, I think given the markets generally and 2023 being a rubbish year, I think all tech and channel leaders are doing a great job. Sounds like an ‘on the fence’ answer but I genuinely don’t have one person to cite.
What technology trend do you think is being overhyped, and why?
Every trend is overhyped, that is what makes it a trend. It has to be AI right? Is the market ready yet? Supply is there but we are still all a little dubious and ill-educated (me included) as to how it will impact us as people as well as businesses.
If you were stranded on a deserted island but could have one piece of tech with you, what would it be?
My phone. I simply can’t live without it nowadays. Not a fact I like tbh.
What's your go-to productivity hack that keeps you on track during a busy day?
Leave everything until the last minute then allow adrenaline to take over. Works for me.
If you had the time to learn one new skill, what would it be?
Patience. Is that a skill?
