What's the most surprising lesson 2024 has taught you so far?
This is something for me personally, and that’s to not say yes to everything and try and please everyone. I know a lot of people will resonate with this, but like most will know and understand, you cannot do everything, its impossible to please everyone as it only adds more baggage and weight to what you can do. Meaning you’ll spread yourself so thin you’ll be less effective and productive. I have had to learn to say no more and only yes to meaningful things both in work and pleasure.
If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why? Freddie Murcury! Loved him, his music, I found his writing talents amazing and would love to learn more about him. Plus, I love Queen!
Which tech or channel figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why? Jamie Brothwell, I love what she is doing in the channel. How she has worked her way up and with the recent news of becoming MD at Exertis, it’s a really positive move for her and the channel.
What technology trend do you think is being overhyped, and why? Goodness, what hasn’t, AI, Cloud, AI, AI, AI, although there are many elements of AI that are brilliant, it also scares me a lot, you cannot replace all human elements. And whilst there is so much good that can come from AI, I worry about the negative aspects it means and could bring long term.
If you were stranded on a deserted island but could have one piece of tech with you, what would it be?
My phone, always my phone, sorry not sorry!
What's your go-to productivity hack that keeps you on track during a busy day? I’m a classic old school list writer!, I stick to my lists and even tick off as I go, this keeps me on track and focused! That and using my diary well, thank goodness for reminders!!
If you had the time to learn one new skill, what would it be?
None work related completely, but I’d like to learn how to cook better, Im terrible, good at baking but not a great cook, ask my husband!
