Hayley Roberts

CEO, Distology

What has been your personal highlight of 2021?

One of the highlights this year is seeing the industry pick up and become more confident than last year. Personally, seeing our team grow and succeed after a flat couple of years with new revenue streams and a robust tech strategy have been great achievements. We are very positive and confident of great successes for 2026!

Which tech figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?

I just don't look at other 'figureheads' at all. I think all tech leaders are ensuring growth and success, so I don't fan girl. As 'on the fence' as it sounds, I think all tech businesses doing well in uncertain times are impressive.

What was your first job in the channel?

Business manager for a cyber security distributor.

What’s your personal sustainability commitment for 2026?

I don't have a sustainability strategy personally, but I do aim to recycle a lot more than I have and consider my travel.

What’s one hidden talent or skill your colleagues wouldn’t suspect you have?

I bake and play padel. Both intermediate level IMO. The best skill is being able to sleep like a corpse.

What’s your advice for new graduates/apprentices in the channel, in three words?

Fail then learn.

What was your first day in your current role like?

Lonely. Building a business from scratch is a lot harder than it is now when I have amazing people around me to lean on.

Who has been the most influential figure in your career so far?

My first boss and investor in Distology early days. We worked together and whilst he did detail, I did vision.
