27. Sabio

Revenue: £145.9m

Sabio entered FY23 with a renewed strategic focus under returning CEO Andy Roberts, navigating a year of external turbulence with steady hands. Despite macroeconomic pressures—including the fallout from Avaya’s Chapter 11 filing and Salesforce’s global restructure—revenue ticked down to £145.9m, while EBITDA ticked up slightly to £20.4m.

A major internal shift saw Sabio complete its transition from perpetual licensing to a SaaS-led model, with annuity revenue growing 6 per cent year-on-year to hit £104m. Customer retention remained impressively high at 94 per cent, with the number of £1m+ accounts rising from 39 to 41—proof that its deep enterprise relationships continue to deliver.

New leadership appointments added firepower to the CX specialist’s growth engine. Former Salesforce exec Iain MacRae joined as CRO, while Darren Hayward and Mark Betts stepped into CFO and Chief Experience Officer roles respectively. At a regional level, Sabio doubled down on Europe, appointing Nicolai Ginge as MD for the Nordics and Danny Seaborne for the UK and South Africa.

The group, which supports over 500 customers in 65 countries, enhanced its IP across areas like interaction analytics, wellbeing tools and its Sabio Console platform. Its go-to-market was bolstered by fresh case studies and a place on UK public sector frameworks including G-Cloud 13 and CCS Network Services 3.

On the ESG front, Sabio launched a Sustainability Committee and powered five of its eight offices with renewable energy. It continued its partnership with Ecologi, helping plant 35,000 trees and offset 46 tonnes of CO2 in FY23. Silver accreditation from EcoVadis placed it in the top 15 per cent of rated businesses globally.

With 900+ staff across 11 offices, Sabio continues to carve out its position as a go-to partner for complex CX transformation—one that blends technical nous, strategic insight and sustainability-led thinking.
