32. Centerprise
Revenue: £121.7m
Centerprise International is doubling down on its evolution from traditional reseller to hybrid service provider, with strategic investment across cloud, services and operations driving margin growth in a tough market.
The Basingstoke-based VAR reported a marked increase in gross profit margin from 11.7 per cent to 14.5 per cent, with operating profit margin also on the rise — clear evidence that its ongoing transition towards higher-margin services is paying off. Despite a soft market for end-user compute, which industry analysts say was down 25 per cent year on year, Centerprise still managed to grow turnover modestly — thanks in part to a nearly 6-point jump in revenue from services, now accounting for 18.7 per cent of total sales.
During the year, the business scaled its services division with new hires in cloud architecture, modern workplace and service ops, and made a major investment in a second public cloud platform to boost capacity and resilience. It also extended its logistics and operations centre to support a rapidly growing asset lifecycle management offering.
A key growth engine for Centerprise remains the public sector, where the company retained and won places on strategic frameworks — unlocking opportunities in areas such as cloud provisioning. The VAR continues to emphasise its ESG commitments, from local job creation to employee wellbeing. Staff turnover sits below 10 per cent, which the firm attributes to a people-first culture and a generous share scheme designed to reward long service and impact.
With gross margin on internal services holding steady at 21 per cent, and net assets climbing to over £17m, the directors say they are “satisfied” with the company’s financial position. Strategic ambitions remain centred on deepening share across public and private sectors as well as distribution — with a strong eye on long-term value creation through services.
