7. SCC

Revenue: £915.7m

Despite an operating loss of £2.9m in 2023 (compared to a profit of £14.7m in 2022), SCC attributes this to its long-term investments aimed at enhancing customer and employee experiences. Its latest set of accounts highlights investments in expanding its customer success team and invested in management, leadership, and technical training to foster a learning culture.

SCC's services revenue reached £212.3m, reflecting a modest increase from £209m in 2022. While networking sales declined by over 20 per cent, this was offset by growth in end user and collaboration sectors. The commercial sector led this growth, whereas the public sector and business partners saw a decline.

In alignment with its sustainability goals, SCC opened a multi-million-pound technology reuse and recycling centre, reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility. Additionally, the company increased support for local charities and communities across the UK, focusing on skills development and improving life chances for people from all backgrounds.

SCC's strategic acquisitions and investments underscore its ambition to become Europe's largest technology investor. With a £300m reserve allocated for acquisitions in Europe until 2025, SCC plans to pursue further deals that enhance its offerings beyond core business areas.

The company's partner ecosystem includes over 300 established and emerging technology leaders, such as Dell Technologies, HPE, IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, and AWS. These partnerships enable SCC to deliver comprehensive IT solutions across various sectors, including banking, healthcare, education, and government.
