In the latest of our 'meet the shortlisters' series; Paul Starr, director of security reseller sep2 (pictured), shares his pride in the team, outlines how his firm plans to grow its way out of the pandemic and describes the honour of being shortlisted for a Rising Star channel award
Give us a flavour of your business - what verticals/product sets are your sweet spots, how do you differentiate yourself from the competition etc
sep2 is an independent cyber security specialist reseller- deliberately with few vendors in our portfolio so we provide the maximum quality skills delivering our excellence to our customers. Take leading global security vendor Check Point for example, sep2 have five CCSM's on offer.
How have you supported your customers during the pandemic? Has it made you change your strategy in any way? If so, how?
sep2 volunteered our services and engineers to go onsite and help a leading NHS Trust during Covid lockdown by protecting critical A&E services to help save lives.
What has been your company's biggest challenge during 2020 and how did you overcome it? What role did your own teams play in that?
Covid 19. Implementing a safe and secure work from home service for our employees who all then continued to deliver their excellence in helping our customers overcome their organisations' Covid 19 Challenges, enabling sep2 to grow during a global pandemic.
What lessons have you learned from this year?
We are so proud of everyone at sep2 who have all gone above and beyond for our customers during the Covid pandemic.
What does it mean to you to be recognised for the shortlist/an award?
In such a tumultuous year, being shortlisted in the Rising Star category, alongside some great companies, really shows we have a bright future ahead!
How do you think the industry will change as a result of Covid-19 and how do you plan to thrive/grow?
Our industry is always changing. Even with Covid going on, sep2 has continued to grow - and to now thrive ahead means we are welcoming more people joining us - Roll on 2021!
