Videowall take up on the increase

The advent of narrow or non-existent bezels alongside cheaper LCD technology is encouraging sales

The advent of narrow or non-existent bezels alongside cheaper LCD technology is encouraging videowall sales, according to Liz Kerrigan, sales manager at AV distributor PSCo.

“Although some had budgets signed off and others have not, sales are growing year on year,” she said.

Companies are starting to see the benefits and applications are being provided at a cost more organisations find acceptable. “Barclays has just installed a 24-screen videowall in Piccadilly,” added Kerrigan.

Meanwhile, Sony Professional has unveiled its Ziris Canvas videowall system, which programs content individually across an unlimited number of HD displays.

“It uses Sony PS3 in a business application,” said Josh Honda, Sony Professional senior manager for digital signage solutions.

True Colours Distribution has also just supplied the UK’s first self-configuring LCD Samsung Interlocking Displays (ID) videowall to Universal Event Production.
