Sealife Reefmaster DC310
The Reefmaster comes with a bright yellow rubberised case and grips to stop it slipping when handled.
It’s waterproof up to 60m and has a 3megapixel lens and 2x digital zoom. Incredibly, there is no optical zoom feature. It has exposure modes for both land and sea and can shoot jpeg videos. But with just an 8MB internal memory, users will need a memory card if they want to take more than
a couple of shots. Open the casing and it feels like a cheap digital camera. The lens cap must be slid open before the camera is inserted in the watertight case – which will be annoying for anyone who forgets to do it and has just dived to 50m. Images turn out reasonably well, although we expected better. The Reefmaster’s clunky design lets it down.
Even on land the controls are difficult to operate. The on/off button for the LCD screen is in the way of the menu navigation button and it’s impossible to switch between focusing modes when the camera is in the case.
