Why Diversity Matters in the Channel

Lucy Greenaway, Channel Marketing Director – XM Cyber

When I think about what makes the channel special, it always comes back to people. The channel is built on relationships, collaboration, and the ability to bring together different strengths to achieve something bigger than any one company could deliver alone. Diversity sits at the heart of that.

The Women & Diversity in Channel Awards remind us that celebrating difference isn’t just about fairness—it’s about growth. Diverse teams bring fresh perspectives, challenge assumptions, and reflect the markets we serve. In a world where cybersecurity threats evolve daily, innovation isn’t optional, and diversity is one of the best enablers of new ideas.

For me, diversity is also about creating an environment where people feel they belong. I’ve seen first-hand how much stronger partnerships become when everyone has the space to bring their ideas forward. In channel marketing, that’s especially important. Success isn’t just about campaigns or MDF—it’s about co-creation, listening, and making sure partners feel heard and supported. When people feel included, they show up differently, and the results follow.

Looking back on the past year, one of the things I’m most proud of at XM Cyber is the foundation we’ve built with our partners in the UK. We’ve focused on strengthening those key relationships so that partners feel confident bringing us into conversations and see us as part of their long-term strategy. That foundation is what unlocks growth—and it’s a direct reflection of the people and collaboration at the heart of our approach.

At XM Cyber, we’re focused on building long-term partnerships, and part of that means investing in people and communities. Whether that’s creating practical frameworks that help partners go to market with confidence, or simply fostering a culture where different skills and perspectives are valued, we believe collaboration and inclusivity go hand in hand.

Awards like these are a chance to celebrate progress, but also a reminder of the responsibility we all share: to keep opening doors, to keep building inclusive communities, and to make the channel a place where everyone feels they can thrive.
