What are the opportunities for the channel with the growth of AI?

Encryption, privacy, & data protection: a balancing act

This white paper examines the risk posed by encrypted threats; considers the business, privacy, and security implications of managing that risk; and presents constructive measures for balancing security needs with employee privacy rights. In the end, the best way for IT leadership to ensure the rights of the individual employee is to protect the organization from threats and attacks.

How do MSPs really feel the channel will shape up by 2020?

      On borrowed time?

Cybercrime has become a huge part of our economy and it is a topic that is getting more and more attention in the news media. The cybercriminal stories making headlines involve big companies such as British Airways and Marriott etc. However, smaller companies are just as susceptible to cyber- attacks. Often these attacks are much more damaging to smaller businesses, sometimes forcing them to shut down completely. One report from Verizon claims that 43% of email attacks target SMBs.

We provide the common ground for partners, resellers and other vendors to engage with each other, collaborate and take advantage of complementary skill sets. We provide them with access to skills, knowledge and support in an informed and safe environment where they can experiment with new solutions. As a business we are focused on lowering the barrier to entry for our partners so that they can capitalise on next generation technologies.

We appreciate that in this brave new hybrid cloud world, not all our partners have the necessary skills to address customer challenges. Which is why we have dedicated time and resources to refining our Red Hat partner ecosystem.

A Shared Culture

Our relationship with Red Hat is based on shared values. We share Red Hat's passion for open culture and open technology. One of the key aspects of the relationship is knowing that the opportunities and applications for Red Hat's technology are almost limitless. Fortunately, we've been able to communicate this to our partners to help them understand what they can achieve when they work together.

There have been some real success stories along the way with partners collaborating to win new business. They know they can't win these customers on their own, but through Tech Data they have been able to find partners with complementary skills.

Red Hat has been very open to new ideas and suggestions about how we can educate and support our partner community. We're constantly adding value in the form of new content, demos, seminars and even guest speakers. Like everyone else over the past year, we've adapted to remote working, which has allowed us to host even more community forums and events, albeit virtually.

Seizing the Hybrid Cloud Opportunity

Tech Data supports the requirements of established and born in the cloud resellers. They turn to us as a solutions aggregator and a key resource for training, marketing and sales, and technical support.

Through our collaboration with Red Hat, we're able to offer them in-depth knowledge of how to take full advantage of Red Hat OpenShift, the industry's leading enterprise Kubernetes platform, and seize the hybrid cloud and Kubernetes opportunity. We provide them with business planning support and help them to build an incremental pipeline.

Hybrid cloud, Kubernetes and containers have irrevocably changed how customers buy technology. Red Hat has continued to evolve its open hybrid cloud portfolio to meet new customer demands and has created new channel opportunities for partners to grow their cloud business.

On a broader level, containers are a key driver for the channel and there is a lot more energy and enthusiasm for Red Hat software and solutions as a result. The resellers see this as a great opportunity to leverage partner ecosystems to learn more about the technology and develop new skills.
