What would winning this award mean to both your people and your customers/partners?
I had a very FY26, being my best year to date. If I won this award, it would just be the cherry on top of a fab year. It would validate my work beyond just the numbers. It would solidify to my customers that they are working with someone who is trusted, credible, and consistently delivers outcomes for them. It goes beyond the solutions they buy from me; I am recognised for creating real value.
What have been the biggest challenges of the current year so far and how have you overcome them? How have your people/partners helped with that?
The biggest challenge this year has been the supply chain constraints. With some lead times increasing massively, vendor quote validity being reduced to a couple of days, the race to get available stock ready for project timelines has been very challenging. We must continue to have close relationships with our Customers, Distribution, and Vendors, to ensure that there is clear communication for all parties to avoid disappointment. Having a trusted Team and community around me has really helped with this – keeping us up to date with industry news.
What lessons do you think the industry has learned over the past year and what changes do you think it still needs to make?
I think the industry has learnt that security must be built in, not added at a later date. With all the incidents happening in the last year, it has been recognised that resilience and fast recoveries, matter just as much as prevention. With the supply chain shortages currently, I think Customer, Partners, and Vendors need to understand the supply chain constraints in more detail and forward plan to take these into consideration and make strategic decisions around this.
What are the key demands you are seeing from your customers this year?
Working within the Public Sector, budgets are only getting tighter, therefore cost control and consolidation is paramount. Customers are spending to save in the long run and really optimising their Technology. We are having to think outside the box to ensure that Customers are getting more for their money, and more out of their tech. Government guidelines are getting stricter, so we really must understand our customers to ensure they are keeping compliant, whilst not spending for the sake of it.
Which technology trend currently still in hype stage are you placing your bets on?
It has got to be AI. The buzzword has been around for a while and originally Customers were given strategies to implement AI but didn’t know where to start. There are so many clever technologies that have AI embedded and have been build from the ground up using AI, therefore Customer need to be less worried, and embrace it – most of them are already using AI! I’m placing my bets that the ‘AI’ buzzword isn’t going anywhere in the near future!
