Industry Voice: Gamma announces Sky Business partnership and Webex milestone at Gammaverse 2026
Gamma brought its UK partner community together at London's QEII Centre on 8 October for Gammaverse 2026, announcing a new partnership with Sky Business, celebrating a major Webex milestone and outlining its strategy for growth in a changing communications market.
Among the day's biggest announcements was the addition of Sky Business Wholesale to Gamma's FibreXchange platform, giving partners greater choice through an existing ordering and support journey. The move strengthens Gamma's connectivity portfolio as businesses accelerate their transition to fibre and partners navigate an increasingly complex supplier landscape.
Sam Weller, Director, Sky Wholesale Services, said: "As businesses modernise their connectivity and adopt fibre, partners need suppliers that combine network scale, innovation and expert support. We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Gamma, bringing Sky Business Wholesale's broadband and Ethernet capabilities to Gamma's partners and the wider channel community, helping them unlock new growth opportunities and deliver better outcomes for their customers."
Gamma also confirmed that Cisco has recognised it as the world's largest Webex Wholesale Provider, reaching 100,000 active users on the platform. The milestone comes just twelve months after the official launch of Webex for Gamma and reflects strong adoption across its partner community.
Opening the conference, Will Morey, Managing Director of Gamma Business, and John Murphy, CEO of Gamma Business, explored how customer expectations and partner operating models are evolving. While voice remains fundamental to business communications, the opportunity increasingly lies in building additional value through integrated technology, customer experience and managed services.
Murphy emphasised that Gamma's strategy is designed to support different approaches to growth, rather than prescribing a single model.
"Our proposition to you needs to be more tailored, not more generic," he told partners, reinforcing Gamma's commitment to aligning its technology, services and commercial support with the individual needs of partner businesses.
Independent market analysis from Dom Black of Cavell supported this direction, highlighting the changing economics of unified communications and the opportunities emerging in customer experience, automation and AI. His research pointed to the importance of protecting existing customer relationships while extending the range of services partners can provide.
Gamma's Chief Technology Officer, Colin Lees, and colleagues from across the business then detailed developments across connectivity, unified communications,
customer experience, security and AI. Announcements included AI Concierge, Webex CX, Horizon CX powered by Daktela and additional security capabilities, alongside the continuing development of Gamma's technology platforms and partner tools.
The event also introduced a new-look busy Experience Zone, bringing Gamma specialists and technology providers together for product demonstrations and conversations with partners. An expanded breakout programme offered more detailed sessions on migration, connectivity, AI adoption, Cyber Essentials and selling to the public sector.
Guest keynote Rory Sutherland challenged attendees to question established business thinking and reconsider how value is created. "Sometimes it's better to be different than it is to be better," he said, encouraging partners to look beyond conventional measures of success and find opportunities competitors may overlook.
The afternoon programme moved from identifying opportunities to putting them into practice, with sessions examining the growing customer experience market, Gamma's Winner's Playbook and the experiences of partners Focus and Flotek as they evolve their businesses.
Former England footballer Jill Scott MBE also joined Matt Barnett for a conversation drawing on her sporting career, with reflections on leadership, resilience and teamwork.
Throughout the event, Gamma returned to the importance of trust, partner relationships and the need to make technology easier to sell, manage and support. With traditional communications markets becoming more competitive, its focus was on helping partners strengthen their existing customer relationships while identifying new opportunities for growth.
Gammaverse 2026 demonstrated how Gamma intends to support that next stage, combining investment in technology and strategic partnerships with a continued focus on the practical needs of the channel.
