For many small and midsized businesses, cybersecurity still means juggling too many tools or paying for suites built for much larger organisations. Coro says it wants to change that. Positioned as an all-in-one platform for SMEs, the company is focusing on automation, unified protection and a channel-first approach. In this interview, Coro discusses its product strategy, roadmap and view of the UK market.

Coro pitches itself as an all-in-one cybersecurity platform for SMEs — how do you differentiate from the crowded field of point-solution vendors and larger suites?

The cybersecurity market forces SMEs to choose between two extremes: point solutions that create tool sprawl, or large suites that are too costly and complex for their lean operations. Coro eliminates that false choice. We’ve built a single platform that covers the full spectrum of threats, from endpoint to email to cloud, designed specifically for SMEs. That means fast deployment, automated management, and pricing that works for businesses with lean IT teams. We deliver robust protection in a way SMEs can actually use and sustain.

Your platform is modular and AI-driven — how does that translate into real-world simplicity for partners and customers who may not have big in-house security teams?

Coro’s platform was built from the ground up for organizations without large in-house security teams. It combines all the essential protections into one easy-to-use solution, with AI automatically detecting and resolving issues across the environment.

Because everything runs through a single, unified dashboard, customers not only save time but gain clearer visibility across their entire environment, so threats are caught faster and nothing slips through the cracks. Partners spend less time managing alerts and incidents, and customers get strong, continuous protection without needing deep expertise or additional staff.

Our simplicity comes from automation and a unified platform, not from cutting corners on security.

What’s the roadmap for expanding your platform’s capabilities? Are there gaps you’re looking to close compared with traditional enterprise-grade solutions?

Our roadmap is centered on two things: continuous automation and expanding the reach of our unified protection. We’re focused on using AI and data to make cybersecurity smarter, faster, and easier to manage for every customer.

That means continuously evolving how our platform detects, responds to, and prevents threats—always with the goal of reducing the time and effort it takes to stay secure. We’re also expanding into areas that naturally strengthen our ecosystem, guided by customer and partner needs.

Ultimately, our focus is on making cybersecurity easy to use. Every new capability we build is designed to streamline workflows and deliver stronger protection without adding more tools or management overhead.

From your vantage point, what’s the single biggest cyber threat keeping SMEs awake at night in 2025?

The biggest threat in 2025 isn’t necessarily one attack type, it’s the speed of change. Threat actors are leveraging AI to make phishing, ransomware, and insider misuse more frequent, faster, and harder to detect. SMEs can’t keep up if they’re relying on manual defences or fragmented tools. That’s why automation is critical. SMEs don’t have large security teams, so they need protection that moves as fast as the attackers do.

Many SMEs still see cybersecurity as an overhead. How do you convince partners and customers that investing in protection is actually a revenue enabler?

For partners, Coro creates new revenue opportunities. Our solution is built and priced specifically for SMEs, enabling partners to serve a huge segment of the market that’s been underserved by enterprise-focused tools. By offering Coro, partners can grow their business while providing SMEs with robust protection that fits their budgets. In a crowded cyber market, Coro is easy to sell, easy to deploy, and easy to manage, making it ideal for partners to monetise.

For customers, protection is the ultimate business enabler because it secures continuity and trust. A cyber incident doesn't just cost money; it stops operations, damages reputation, and can lead to crippling regulatory fines. Coro minimises downtime and ensures the business can focus on growth, not disaster recovery. And in addition to that, many SMEs now need robust, automated security to even qualify for contracts with larger organizations, and that’s exactly what Coro delivers. It gives them a competitive edge that helps drive revenue, not just protect it.

How is Coro preparing for the regulatory landscape in the UK and Europe, particularly as GDPR enforcement tightens and NIS2 looms?

It is important to note that SMB organisations are regulated by the same principles as Enterprise companies. NIS2 mandates stricter risk management and, crucially, rapid incident reporting (often 24 to 72 hours). Coro is aligned with NIS2 and GDPR requirements and helps companies stay compliant, avoid fines and protect their business. Coro ensures compliance with the NIS2 Directive by implementing comprehensive cybersecurity, risk management, and incident response measures across its network and information systems. Leveraging its own SaaS-based cybersecurity platform, Coro continuously monitors, detects, and mitigates threats to maintain strong information security and business continuity.

What’s Coro’s go-to-market strategy in the UK — are you working purely through partners, or is there a hybrid approach?

Coro is 100% committed to the channel. In the UK, just like EMEA and the rest of the world, our strategy is to empower partners as the trusted advisors to SMEs. They’re closest to the customer, and our role is to make them successful, with a robust security platform that’s easy to deploy, cost-efficient to operate, and designed to scale with SMEs. We don’t compete with partners, we make it easy for them to deliver protection their SME customers truly need at a price they can afford.

How do you see Coro fitting into UK partners’ managed security portfolios — do you complement or compete with their existing toolsets?

Coro isn’t here to replace our partners enterprise stacks — we expand what partners can offer. Most partners already have strong solutions for large organisations, but those same tools often don’t translate to the SME market because of their cost and complexity. By adding Coro, partners can strategically extend their reach into a very large and underserved market. That means opening a new revenue stream, increasing customer lifetime value, and positioning themselves as the go-to advisor not just for enterprises, but for the thousands of SMEs that make up the backbone of the UK economy. It’s not about competition — it’s about helping partners grow their total addressable market.

Many MSPs are under margin pressure — what’s your value proposition to help them stay profitable while securing end-customers?

Coro gives partners a way to grow by serving SMEs profitably. Instead of trying to force-fit enterprise tools into SME budgets, partners can offer them Coro, a solution that is robust, automated, and priced right for smaller businesses. Importantly, MSP’s that have built an Enterprise stack of vendors run the risk of one of those vendors changing their licensing approach, leaving the MSP at risk of margin erosion in their customer services. With a complete stack from Coro, they have a simple licensing model that easily translates to their end customers. That opens an entirely new revenue stream while lowering support and management overhead.

And because our AI handles over 95% of threats automatically, partners spend significantly less time on reactive security management – the biggest margin killer. This automation not only reduces operational costs but also helps partners maintain healthy margins while delivering stronger protection to their customers.
