SCC claims 3Par first

Integrator demonstrates its skill with HP's newly acquired storage kit

Integrator SCC has announced it is the first HP partner to integrate the vendor's recently acquired 3Par technologies into its wider storage range.

SCC, an existing HP StorageWorks Solutions Specialist, has completed training on the 3Par portfolio and is now working on a number of customer projects involving the deployment of the technology. Andy Wright, director of vendor alliances for SCC, claimed he expected the new storage wares to be big sellers in 2011.

"Putting all the hype aside, this technology really is something of a game-changer in the storage market, allowing customers to deploy the levels of storage they really need, as opposed to the frequently bloated and over-provisioned solutions of the past," he added.

"The potential cost savings in both the short and long term are extremely impressive, and we expect the agility and efficiency that 3Par provides to prove extremely popular in 2011."

HP closed its $2.35bn (£1.46bn) acquisition of the storage player in September, and 3Par's products were launched into the channel three months later. Last month, ChannelWeb reported that storage-specialised HP partners face a race against time to skill up on the new gear and hang onto their accreditations.

Richard Masterson, HP StorageWorks UK and Ireland country manager, claimed the work of partners such as SCC will be instrumental in the success of its newly acquired storage line-up.

"Partners like SCC hold the key to delivering on the promise of agile, efficient technology," he added. "By integrating 3PAR technology with HP's Converged Infrastructure solutions, together we can offer customers greater choice, innovation and cost-effectiveness."
