‘We work with 500 MSPs’: BeMSP co-founder and CEO
Thomas Bresse talks French-speaking market reach, leading firms on the MSP path, and connecting the French ecosystem
French VAD BeMSP, founded in 2014 by Thomas Bresse and Frédéric Navarro, lives up to its name by pitching itself predominantly at the MSP sector.
The value-added aspect of the business means that BeMSP frequently guides solution providers on their path towards the managed services model, which gained traction in France at the dawn of the 21st century.
The organisation, which started as a consulting firm 11 years ago, gradually turned into a VAD over time as it signed more and more distribution agreements.
Consulting now only represents between one to two per cent of the company’s revenue, which stands at around €10m (£8.7m) in FY25.
Expanding client and partner base
BeMSP currently works with 500 MSPs, most of them located in France, with a minority based in French-speaking European countries such as Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg.
The organisation, which reportedly adds around 100 additional partners to its network every year, intends to reach 1,000 MSPs within a few years.
The firm is strictly targeting organic growth and doesn’t have a focused acquisition strategy.
Looking ahead, BeMSP still sees a lot of potential within France, as the country counts five to six thousand IT services providers.
“We still have plenty of work to do,” explains Bresse.
“There is a lot of growth around everything to do with security.
“AI is something that can be integrated natively into the solutions we distribute, rather than being a business in itself.”
In terms of vendors, it partners with organisations such as Datto and Autotask (part of Kaseya), ITGlue, usecure, Liongard, CyberFox, Domotz, ThreatLocker, Keeper, and SendMark.
“We’re regularly approached by vendors who want to be present in France,” he explains.
“We see it as a sign of traction in the market, which is developing strongly.
“We always go and look for vendors who integrate into the MSP ecosystem around subjects like cybersecurity, data protection, and financial tools.
“When we choose new vendors, we try to meet market needs via two major trends; security and efficiency.”
BeMSP currently employs 24 people, half of which are involved in sales.
The company is based in Aix-en-Provence and has “a very large part” of its workforce that works remotely.
Teaching MSPs
To educate companies about the MSP model, the VAD frequently publishes educational content on YouTube.
In May, it launched an online network on community platform Circle to provide MSPs with learning resources, trainings, as well as testimonies and advice from similar companies.
The Circle community now counts about 1,000 members, according to the CEO.
The organisation also hosts in-person events, such as the MSPCon conference held each year, which aims to provide French MSPs with coaching, networking, and advice.
He mentions MSPs like Manaps, Quietic, and Acadir as examples of companies that started from scratch and that have evolved thanks to the support offered by BeMSP.
