Cisilion head of sales exits after five months

The Softcat vet first joined the solution provider in May

Cisilion has confirmed the departure of head of sales atthew Jones, less than five months after he joined the MSP and systems integrator.

Jones, who came on board in May, exits with “the company’s best wishes for the future,” a Cisilion spokesperson told CRN.

Ranked No. 60 in CRN’s Top VARs 2025****, Cisilion has seen several changes in its senior sales ranks in recent months.

Jones was hired following a pair of contract stints at vendors ThreatX and Wallarm.

Prior to that, he spent two decades at Softcat, rising through the sales organisation to become UK&I corporate sales director between 2014 and 2019.

Despite his short tenure, the company insists its commercial momentum is unaffected.

“Cisilion remains firmly on track with our growth plans, supported by an experienced leadership team that is committed to building on our momentum and delivering long-term success for our clients and partners,” the representative added.

That momentum was underlined in the firm’s latest set of accounts. For the year ending 2023, Cisilion posted its strongest results to date, with bookings climbing 18 per cent to £86.77m.

EBITDA more than doubled to £1.72m, a performance the directors linked to operational efficiency drives, a sharpened focus on profitability and strengthened ties with customers across both the public sector and corporate markets.

The London-based MSP has consistently pitched itself as a growth-minded partner for clients, banking on its cloud, networking and collaboration expertise. Its latest financials suggest those bets are paying off, even as the business undergoes personnel changes.

While the exit of a high-profile sales leader so soon after his arrival may raise eyebrows in the channel, Cisilion emphasised its leadership bench remains stable and capable of executing on its strategy.

For Jones, his next step is yet to be announced.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article referred to jones’ title as sales director. His actual title at Cisilion was head of sales.
