Irish MSP Ekco has acquired Solsoft Group Limited to strengthen its UK presence across various markets.

The Bristol-headquartered MSP brings over 26 years of experience in delivering IT services to SMEs and not-for-profit organisations across the South and Southwest of the UK in sectors such as legal services, construction, engineering, energy, health, and social care.

The newly acquired company also adds 16 new heads to Ekco’s workforce of 1,000 employees spread across Ireland, the UK, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and South Africa.

Following the deal, Solsoft will become part of Ekco’s MSP Division.

“We have always admired [Solsoft’s] rock solid, client focused, proactive service in the UK,” said Cian Prendergast, CEO of Ekco’s MSP Division.

“With Ekco’s world class expertise in security-first managed services and cutting-edge technology, this partnership is a perfect match, and we are looking forward to growing and learning together.”

Neil Farnworth, MD of Solsoft, added: “Joining Ekco lets us bring more capability and resilience to our customers, backed by [their] scale while maintaining the responsiveness they value.

“Our aligned ways of working and approaches to service delivery means we can really hit the ground running.”

This marks Ekco’s third acquisition in 2025.

In July, the firm purchased Irish MSP Adapt IT, which added 37 employees and around 300 SME customers in sectors such as manufacturing, hospitality, retail, legal, and finance.

Earlier this year, it also bought out Manchester-based cybersecurity consultancy Predatech to boost its presence in the Northwest of England.

The MSP, which opened its UK offices in 2015, has increased its focus on the country following the appointment Ben Savage as UK CEO in May.

In an interview with CRN, Savage said acquisitions would be a core element of the MSP’s strategy in the country as a way to quickly add new capabilities and bring on experienced professionals.

“Hiring ten to 20 skilled professionals organically takes time, which is why M&A will remain a key part of our strategy,” he explained.
