Nine23 and Nutanix team up to deliver UK sovereign cloud
The MSP moves its platform infrastructure from VMware to Nutanix as part of the deal
Southampton-based MSP Nine23 has partnered with cloud computing vendor Nutanix to deliver UK sovereign managed services across the central government, the national security and defence industry, and their supply chain.
As part of the agreement, Nine23 will move its platform infrastructure from VMware to Nutanix Cloud Platform, in an effort to boost performance, simplify operations, and reduce cost across its services.
The adoption of Nutanix’s hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) will aim to support Nine23’s UK-hosted cloud offering, Platform FLEX, while enabling faster deployment times, simplified management, and the ability to scale on demand.
This deal will also give the US vendor a path into highly regulated UK markets through Nine23’s footprint and accreditation as a high assurance provider.
“Our clients in defence, law enforcement, and central government require high assurance, low-risk platforms that are both secure and modern,” said Dan Hilton, CTO at Nine23.
“Nutanix offers us a cost-effective, future-ready solution that allows us to continue delivering secure services with confidence, without compromising on agility or control.”
Steven Teasdale, GM UKI at Nutanix, added: “We’re proud to partner with Nine23 to offer secure, scalable and sustainable cloud solutions to the UK public sector.
“Nine23’s trusted position within high assurance markets and its commitment to innovation, compliance and end-user focus, combined with the simplicity, flexibility and resilience of the Nutanix Cloud Platform, will help define a new standard for sovereign cloud services in the UK.”
This is the second time this year Nine23 enhances its UK sovereign solutions, as the company recently partnered with Berkshire-based vendor Pulsant to deliver resilient, accredited, compliant stack across the physical datacentre and infrastructure.
The MSP’s CEO Steve Jewell also recently told CRN it was looking to double down focus on its main markets; defence, national security and public safety, and central government to get the business back on track.
