The Nordic channel continues to lead the way in sustainability with Atea and 3stepIT announcing respective achievements in the green space.

First up, Atea, the biggest IT services provider in the Nordics, which today announced it has been recognised as one of Europe’s 50 most sustainable corporations.

The Oslo-based channel firm placed 27th in Corporate Knights’ inaugural Europe 50 ranking.

According to the list, 56.6 per cent of Atea’s revenues come from sustainable sources, and 21.7 per cent of its investment portfolio has been directed into sustainable solutions.

The Norwegian group saw revenues grow 12.5 per cent year-on-year to NOK 8.55bn (£615.61m) in Q1.

Atea is no stranger to the Corporate Knights ranking, having been placed on its Global 100 Index since 2022.

Last year it set a new best for the company, earning the 41st position.

The ranking follows the Corporate Knights 2025 Global 100 methodology, with eligibility extended to STOXX Europe 600 constituents and the top 100 Europe-based publicly traded companies.

The number one ranked firm, however, while not a channel partner, but a channel-friendly vendor, is Schneider Electric.

The French multinational also achieved the highest marks in the 2025 Global 100 ranking.

According to Corporate Knights, 74 per cent of Schneider Electric’s €54bn in annual revenue comes from sustainable sources, and nearly 80 per cent of its sizeable investment portfolio has been put into sustainable solutions.

While Corporate Knights’ inaugural Europe 50 list shows that European companies are still setting the tone for global sustainability efforts, it also indicates how channel partners in the Nordics are leading the way in embracing sustainable business practices.

More to celebrate in channel sustainability

Finnish IT services firm 3stepIT joins Atea in kicking off its week with a sustainability celebration.

The technology lifecycle management provider has been awarded a gold medal by supplier sustainability evaluator EcoVadis for its performance, placing 3stepIT in the top five per cent of over 100,000 companies assessed globally.

The recognition reflects its commitment to responsible business practices across Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

The circular economy has been pivotal to 3stepIT’s mission since its inception in 1997.

Since then, the org has expanded into other countries like Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

In a recent interview with CRN, the Helsinki-HQ group identified the UK as a key area in its next expansion.
