Park Place Technologies today announced its acquisition of UK-headquartered IT managed services provider CSI Ltd.

Founded in 1983, CSI specialises in hybrid multi-cloud solutions for legacy IBM systems and serves medium-to-large enterprises in highly regulated industries such as financial services, manufacturing and retail.

The addition of Birmingham-based CSI brings Park Place’s global headcount to more than 2,200 employees.

Park Place tells CRN it was drawn to CSI by its “deep expertise” in IBM Power and hybrid cloud environments which is “complementary” to Park Place’s existing portfolio and accelerates its ability to serve customers navigating digital transformation.

“Beyond the technical capabilities, the company were incredibly impressed with the calibre of CSI’s team—their passion for service excellence aligns perfectly with our culture,” Park Place says to CRN.

The group will offer the newly bought firm’s portfolio of services, including hybrid cloud services, Backup as a Service, disaster recovery and cybersecurity.

The acquisition is one of the most significant in the number 81 ranked Top VAR’s 34-year history, second only to its 2020 acquisition of Curvature, Inc.

The last M&A move the datacentre and networking optimisation specialist made in the UK was in October 2023 with its takeover of Xuper Limited.

“CSI Ltd. brings exceptional talent, deep hybrid cloud expertise, and a stellar reputation for service excellence,” said Park Place president and CEO Chris Adams (pictured).

“By joining forces, we’re unlocking new possibilities for our customers around the world, delivering smarter, more agile IT solutions that power transformation.

“This acquisition not only expands our capabilities - it accelerates our vision of becoming the world’s most comprehensive, customer-focused IT lifecycle partner.”

Alan Watkins, chairman of CSI added: “The opportunity to expand our reach and deliver even greater value—faster and at scale—is a significant and exciting step forward.

“Through our discussions with Park Place, it quickly became clear that we share a common vision and an unwavering commitment to service excellence. Joining the Park Place Technologies family is a natural next step—and one that brings exciting benefits to our clients, employees, and partners alike.”
