SCC buys Grupo Omega to boost Spanish operations

The company brings €61.6m in revenue and 160 employees

SCC has purchased IT services provider Grupo Omega to deepen its presence in the Spanish market.

Founded in 1993 in Barcelona, the company also counts offices in Madrid, Bilbao, Pamplona and Valladolid.

The newly bought organisation focuses on infrastructure, datacentres, cybersecurity and networking, as well as in technological innovation.

As of 2024, it had a turnover of €61.6m (£53.03m) and employed 160 people.

This buyout brings SCC’s headcount in the country to 400 employees and over 7,000 across the world.

The two organisations will combine their portfolio of customers in the public and private sector, IT provider, and tech partners.

“We are convinced that together we are now starting a long journey of supporting our customers in the public and private sectors in this exciting task of implementing technology in their businesses, which is now greatly enhanced by the addition of the talent and possibilities that both companies bring,” said Arturo Moncada, CEO of SCC Spain.

Albert Casadejust, CEO of Grupo Omega, added: "[We] approach this new stage with enthusiasm and ambition to become one of the most important partners in the IT sector in Spain.”

Beyond the Iberian country, the VAR has operations across the UK, France, Romania, and Vietnam.

It closed its last financial year on 31 March with a turnover of nearly €125m in Spain, a 12.5 per cent increase from the year prior.

In FY24, SCC’s global turnover was £3.3bn.

Its UK arm, which ranks number seven in CRN’s Top VARs list, generated £915.7m.

Spain is currently the organisation’s second most important territory behind the UK, Jean-Philippe Barleaza, SCC’s GM of EMEA software, recently told CRN.

This marks the VAR’s fourth acquisition since its £300m M&A strategy launched in late 2022, and its first buyout outside of the UK, as it previously purchased Vohkus, Nimble, and Resonate.
