Westcon-Comstor today posted uplifted first-half results driven by cybersecurity growth and a continued shift to software and services-based recurring revenues.

Gross sales were up 9.8 per cent to $2.78bn on $2.53bn from H1 FY25.

Revenues were flat at 0.5 per cent growth with $979m due to product mix with software growth exceeding hardware, resulting in more revenue being presented on a net basis.

Gross profit jumped 13.8 per cent to $246m, while gross margin swelled to 25.1 per cent for the six months to 31 August 2025.

Adjusted EBITDA saw a 7.3% year-on-year rise to $76.4m, with adjusted EBITDA margin up to 7.8 per cent.

“In our 40th year, these results underscore Westcon-Comstor’s growth focus, agility and strategic role at the heart of the IT channel,” said David Grant, CEO of Westcon-Comstor.

“Cybersecurity is now firmly embedded as a key boardroom priority, while cloud adoption is accelerating and unleashing new possibilities for AI in networking.”

Business unit breakdown

Cybersecurity continues to be a key driver of the distributor’s rise, with sales climbing 16 per cent to $1.45bn, representing 52 per cent of overall gross sales, up from 49 per cent a year earlier.

Westcon said during the period it met rising demand from channel partners and their customers by leveraging its technical expertise, value-added services and strong and growing vendor portfolio.

Gross sales from networking and cloud – Westcon-Comstor’s other two specialist technology areas – also recorded year-on-year increases.

Software sales surged 30 per cent to $1.14bn and – combined with cloud sales – now comprise 48 per cent of gross sales, while hardware accounted for 29 per cent.

Europe leads the way

All of the global distributor’s regions, Europe, MEA and APAC, were up during the period, with the latter two seeing “particularly strong growth”.

Europe contributed 60 per cent to Westcon’s gross sales, the largest amount of any of its regions, but down one per cent from the previous year.

Last month the Datatec-owned distie continued consolidating its European leadership with the promotion of Stephane Reboud to SVP, sales for the region.
