Flotek snaps up Comvista Networks in 17th acquisition
The move marks the MSP’s third deal of the year and expands its network infrastructure capabilities and Scottish footprint
Flotek has completed its 17th buyout with the takeover of Scottish network infrastructure specialist Comvista Networks.
The purchase will bolster the MSP’s networking and communications capabilities while expanding its presence across Scotland and the north of the UK.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2008 and based in Glenrothes, Fife, Comvista provides network infrastructure, structured cabling, optical fibre, connectivity and communications services across the UK.
The company specialises in the design, installation, testing and commissioning of internal and external network infrastructure, working with SMEs alongside larger commercial and public-sector organisations.
Its customer base includes local government, with the business having supported Fife Council, while its projects span environments including offshore installations, water management facilities, care settings and construction sites.
The acquisition also builds on the two companies’ existing relationship, with Comvista having worked as a contractor for Flotek on infrastructure and cabling projects across Scotland and northern England.
“Comvista is a business we already know and trust,” said Flotek CEO Jay Ball
“We’ve worked with Neill and the team on projects in the north for a fair while, so we’ve seen first-hand the knowledge, experience and quality they bring to technically demanding infrastructure work.
“Comvista adds significant credibility and specialist capability in these areas, while also strengthening our communications presence among SMEs.”
Comvista director Neill Ferguson, who has more than 40 years of experience in the telecoms industry, will bring his team’s expertise into the wider Flotek business.
“Comvista has built its reputation through experience, technical knowledge and a willingness to take responsibility for every stage of a project,” he said.
“Becoming part of Flotek creates an opportunity to bring that expertise into a wider technology group and offer customers an even broader range of joined-up services.”
Flotek M&A history
