Infinigate has appointed former Lenovo and ALSO Germany executive Sabine Hammer as regional vice president for DACH, the latest leadership hire as the cybersecurity-focused distributor looks to accelerate growth across EMEA.

Hammer will join the business on 1 October, succeeding André Stark, who is leaving Infinigate to pursue a new opportunity after leading the DACH organisation through what the distributor described as an important phase of development.

The appointment comes weeks after Infinigate named former Kyndryl Germany chief Kai Grunwitz as chief growth officer, a newly created role designed to help drive expansion across EMEA and ANZ.

With more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, Hammer brings leadership expertise spanning both the vendor and distribution sides of the channel. She has held senior positions at HP, ALSO Germany and Lenovo, and most recently led value business development at Lenovo across DACH and EMEA, overseeing go-to-market strategy, partner ecosystem growth and strategic alliances.

Commenting on her appointment, Hammer said Infinigate's position as a specialist value-added distributor in cybersecurity, cloud and network infrastructure was a key attraction.

“With rising demand for cybersecurity, accelerated by AI, and a clear Group strategy, this is an exciting time to join Infinigate,” she said.

Infinigate Group CEO Marco van Kalleveen added: “DACH is a key market for Infinigate, and we look forward to accelerating growth for vendors and partners as a leading cybersecurity VAD platform.”

Infinigate’s latest leadership move in growth push

The leadership change follows a period of continued expansion and investment for Infinigate as it broadens its reach across cybersecurity, cloud and network infrastructure.

The distributor significantly expanded its European footprint in 2022 through its acquisition of Nuvias' cybersecurity and secure networking business, strengthening its presence in the UK, France, the Nordics, Benelux and Southern Europe and creating one of the largest cybersecurity-focused distribution platforms in the region.

More recently, Infinigate has continued building out its leadership bench and investing in new growth areas. Alongside Grunwitz's appointment as chief growth officer, the company also created a dedicated regional vice president role for cloud and marketplace services, hiring former Giacom executive James Baker to help expand that part of the business.

The distributor has also remained active on the vendor front. Earlier this year it expanded its partnership with network detection and response specialist Corelight into the UK&I market, adding to a series of new and extended vendor relationships aimed at strengthening its cybersecurity proposition for channel partners.

Hammer now takes charge of a region that Infinigate describes as a key market for future growth as the distributor looks to build further momentum across cybersecurity, cloud and network infrastructure.
