Ron Alvesteffer retires as CEO of Service Express
He will remain on the board of the company moving forward
Ron Alvesteffer has announced his retirement as CEO of Service Express after more than a decade leading the organisation.
The tech leader took to LinkedIn to announce his departure.
“After more than 28 years, it’s time for me to retire as CEO of Service Express,” he wrote.
“I have had the privilege of being part of a team that grew revenue from $2.7m to $380m and expanded our employee base from 15 people to more than 900.
“What we accomplished together in a relatively short time is extraordinary. Two company transactions. COVID. UK and managed services expansion. Tripling the size of the company.”
While stepping down as CEO, he will remain on the board and has hinted at taking on further advisory roles in the future.
Alvesteffer first joined Service Express as sales manager in 1997.
He climbed the company ladder over the years, rising to the role of VP of sales in 2000 before taking over as president two years later, eventually becoming CEO of the VAR in 2015.
His retirement comes as Service Express has recently completed its merger with Park Place Technologies, creating an entity employing over 3,000 staff serving more than 20,000 customers across North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
Chris Adams is to assume the position of CEO and member of the board of directors at the new organisation.
The union, first announced in September 2025, saw Charlesbank Capital Partners and GTCR exit their investment in Park Place as part of the transaction.
His departure also follows a transformative year for the firm, as it promoted Rob Miller to COO in April 2025 and acquired US-based datacentre maintenance provider Top Gun Technology in February.
Service Express’ UK arm ranks number 74 in CRN’s Top VARs list, while Park Place’s British branch stands at number 41.
