SoftwareOne’s top line jumps more than 20 per cent in preliminary FY25
Results were fuelled by the Crayon merger as well as positive performance across EMEA and APAC
Switzerland-based VAR SoftwareOne has returned to growth in its preliminary FY25 trading update, supported by its merger with Crayon.
Revenue for the financial year leapt 22.5 per cent to CHF 1.2bn (£1.2bn).
On a combined like-for-like basis, FY25 top line slightly increased 1.4 per cent to CHF 1.5bn, reportedly ahead of the company’s previously communicated flat growth guidance.
On the other hand, foreign exchange negatively impacted the results by 3.4 per cent.
Figures were boosted by the Crayon acquisition, which closed on 2 July and contributed to performance in the final two quarters of the year.
In Q4, reported turnover jumped 64.7 per cent year-on-year.
On a combined like-for-like basis, earnings went up 11 per cent thanks to momentum in EMEA, DACH and APAC.
Performance in NORAM and LATAM remained muted, said the organisation.
SoftwareOne expects its EBITDA margin to rise to around 20 per cent in FY25 on a combined like-for-like basis.
The Swiss business will publish its full financial statements and annual report for FY25 on 31 March.
The update follows a strong third quarter, with reported revenue up 46 per cent year-on-year to CHF 343.2m, despite a 3.2 per cent drop on a combined like-for-like basis.
Momentum also comes after SoftwareOne reshuffled its regional and global leadership team across 2025.
In October, it hired Ed Bell as UK country leader.
In May, the company named Hanspeter Schraner as group CFO following the departure of Rodolfo Savitzky in Q2 FY25.
These changes began with the appointment of Raphael Erb in late 2024, who took over as CEO after the organisation reported mixed results in H1 that year.
The firm’s performance was also dragged down in the first half of FY25.
Results in H1 were impacted by performance in NORAM sales and marketplace revenues.
Group revenue declined 5.7 per cent year-on-year in Q1, impacted by soft performance across all regions but APAC.
The company’s UK arm ranks number 77 on CRN’s Top VARs list.
