Networking specialist Xantaro has appointed former Logicalis DACH chief Christian Werner as group CEO as the group enters its next phase of growth following a series of acquisitions across Europe.

Werner takes up the role with immediate effect, succeeding Martin Czermin.

Czermin moves into the position of executive chairman today.

The appointment comes after a period of expansion for the group, which has added nicos, NetDescribe and anykey through acquisition in recent years. Xantaro has also continued to strengthen its UK presence across fibre, networking and managed services.

The systems integrator and MSP has offices in London, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg employs 170 staff, 21 of which operate in the UK, according to its latest financial report.

A veteran channel leader

Werner joins from managed security services provider Digit Solutions, where he most recently served as managing director for the DACH region, covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

He brings more than 30 years of experience in the IT and systems integration market, including an eight-year stint as CEO and managing director of Logicalis Group DACH.

Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions at Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Siemens.

Announcing the appointment, executive chairman Martin Czermin said the handover had been carefully planned and would provide continuity for customers, partners and staff while positioning the business for further growth.

"This handover is something we've carefully prepared for, and it marks the start of the next phase in our company's development," he said.

"With Christian Werner, I am handing over the reins to a true industry professional. He not only brings a deep understanding of the IT market but has also shown time and again that he knows how to grow organisations and build lasting success.

"For our customers, partners and our entire team, this is a strong signal that Xantaro is well prepared for the future."

Xantaro’s next phase of growth

In March, 2026, Xantaro UK’s top line fell for its FY25 amid a services and hardware slump. Howveer, at the time the company said it expected acquisitions and a UK broadband rollout to drive future momentum.

Werner said his immediate focus would be on building on the foundations established by Czermin while helping the group expand its growth platforms.

"Xantaro is very well positioned in the market, both technologically and in the strength of its team," he said.

"My priority is to build on Martin's successful work and make sure our customers can continue to rely on us.

"On this solid foundation, and together with our excellent team, we will continue to systematically expand the Xantaro Group's growth platforms."

The Xantaro Group comprises of Xantaro Deutschland, Xantaro UK, nicos, NetDescribe and anykey.

The CEO appointment marks the latest step in the group's evolution as it integrates its acquired businesses and builds on its managed services and network infrastructure across Europe.
