Avnet throws weight behind 3PAR
Distributor claims it is winning two out of three HP engagements as it announces staff investment in 3PAR
Distributor Avnet claims to have assigned 55 staff to help HP push its recently acquired 3PAR technology out to resellers.
HP kicked off a channel recruitment push for 3PAR in December, two months after beating Dell in a bidding war for the utility storage vendor.
Avnet said it has assembled a 55-strong team involved in awareness campaigns, training, workshops, pre-sales support and briefing meetings, to help HP seed the channel for 3PAR.
The distributor is also running a workshop this month to train more than 100 internal sales people on the business benefits of 3PAR technology, which HP is using to build out its cloud storage proposition.
Scott Murphy, HP divisional leader at Avnet Technology Solutions UK, claimed Avnet's close ties with HP means it wins two out of three of the deals it engages in and that it aimed to drive the closure rate even higher.
"Recognised as a strong green storage proposition and built for the cloud, HP 3PAR combined with Avnet delivers an opportunity for high growth to those partners who embrace the technology," he said.
