ITEC IS becomes Smart global service provider
Audiovisual vendor Smart announces consultancy to work with resellers
Berkshire consultancy ITEC Intelligent Services has been named as the service-only provider for interactive technology vendor Smart in EMEA, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, covering some 90 nations.
Ross Teague, chief executive at ITEC, said the channel-only company expects the Smart deal to be worth £8m to £10m a year for it globally, and £1m to £2m in the UK.
"We are currently doing about £4m in channel services for the UK VAR community," Teague said. "We see collaboration technologies generally as a big play for us.
"ITEC has a lot of skill and competency around Microsoft Lync, and we see the development of Lync for enterprise voice and unified comms and collaboration along with Smart room systems for Lync as a major opportunity for ITEC to assist the channel with collaboration technologies for their end-user clients."
ITEC, as an authorised service partner of Smart, sells its survey, installation and maintenance services via the distributor and the VAR to the end user – not direct to the end user, he confirmed.
Its certifications around Smart's interactive whiteboards and other collaborative offerings for schools and businesses include Factory Trained Installer, Factory Trained Digital Vision Touch Technology Technician and Certified Technical Trainer.
The Berkshire-headquartered firm has an ops centre in Newcastle, an Asia-Pacific base in Singapore and an office in Selangor, Malaysia.
