Departing Westcon boss Douglas to rock up at Unify
Dean Douglas to become chief executive of what used to be Siemens Enterprise Communications in January
Departing Weston boss Dean Douglas is set to join software firm Unify as its chief executive next year.
Yesterday, the distributor announced that former Dell man Dolph Westerbos would take over the reins from Douglas at Westcon next month after a handover period, and today Douglas revealed he was off to Unify straight afterwards.
He will begin his role as CEO from 16 January, replacing current boss Hamid Akhavan who will join the executive board where he will continue to support the company.
Mark Stone, chairman of Unify – formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications – said Douglas' arrival will be good news for the company.
"I am very happy that after many months of searching, we have found the ideal successor and leader in Dean," he added.
"He brings deep understanding of the enterprise technology industry and intensive experience of successful sales channel and partnership development in a variety of international roles, which will be essential as we continue the transformation of Unify into the most capable supplier in the industry."
