Total Computer Networks aims to add £5m sales with City digs
VAR opens doors on third UK location on 1 April and plans to house more than 20 staff there by the end of the year
VAR Total Computer Networks (TCN) is aiming to generate an extra £5m in annual sales through its new City office.
The reseller, which has its headquarters in Kettering and also operates a Manchester office, will open a new location in the capital, near Liverpool Street, on 1 April. The facility will open with about 10 staff, but TCN sales director Kieran O'Connor claimed that he expects that figure to rise to north of 20 by the end of 2014.
New staff in both sales and technical functions will be recruited over the coming weeks and months, and the office will also serve as a base for existing staff serving customers in and around London.
"It is not just a sales office, it is a jump-off point for our consultants to service their London customers more easily," explained O'Connor. "But our main focus will be on recruitment. It will be a mixture of experienced people and those who are looking to get into sales."
The TCN sales chief claimed that the VAR's conservative estimate for the new office is a top line of about £5m during its first 12 months in operation. The reseller has been on a strong growth trajectory in recent years, with 2013 sales growing about 50 per cent to more than £30m.
While recreating those growth levels may be a tall order, the company is still planning to expand this year, claimed O'Connor.
"For now we are far more comfortable with growing organically than through acquisition," he added. "But never say never."
