Total Computers opens office in 'poorly served' Scotland
New office complements existing facilities in London, Kettering and Manchester
Total Computers has opened a new office in central Glasgow to cover the "poorly served" Scottish market.
The VAR, which already has bases in London, Kettering and Manchester, looked at several locations in which to set up a new office before deciding on Glasgow, and Kieran O'Connor, sales director at Total Computers, said this decision was prompted by a shortage of IT providers in Scotland.
"Scottish organisations seem to be poorly served, with relatively few local IT providers to choose from," he said.
"When we spoke to local IT managers, they were keen for a new alternative. Existing customers tell us we've got a refreshing approach and having an office in Scotland enables us to offer this to many more organisations, as well as improving service to existing customers."
The new office will be in the centre of Glasgow on West George Street. From this facility Total Computers will offer its range of products, technical consultancy, cloud and support services to public and private sector organisations in Scotland.
"We want to build a significant presence and become one of Scotland's first-choice IT providers," O'Connor said.
In 2013, Total Computers saw its sales hit £30.5m, up from £20.3m in the previous year, and its operating profit pass the £1m mark. The VAR is partnered with the likes of Cisco, Dell and VMware.
