Channel veteran Ognall joins QuantiQ

Former Teksys founder Simon Ognall poached by CRM specialist QuantiQ to be sales director and drive ambitious growth plans

Bullish Microsoft Dymanics partner QuantiQ has tempted Simon Ognall back to the channel partner fold from his current position as channel lead at NetApp.

Ognall is set to join the firm as sales director and board member from 7 September as chief executive Stuart Fenton looks to grow the company to a £40m player in the next few years.

Former Insight EMEA president Fenton (pictured, right) has taken QuantiQ on a rapid turnaround programme since he purchased Microsoft Dynamics ERP partner Tectura UK in 2014, bringing on a new leadership team and striving for growth. Ognall has the experience necessary to convince customers to invest in ERP systems and take the business to the next level, he said.

"Simon has the energy to run up and down the country and manage our key partner relationships," said Fenton. "In this industry, when selling ERP you can't be a youngster. Simon has the miles on the clock and has run and set up several businesses; he has the industry scars and the experience to drive our strategy. He is a really good fit."

"I have known Simon for 20 years and have been talking to him on and off for a couple of years. Only now the timing was right for both of us."

Current sales boss Mike Atkins is staying in the business, and is set to oversee QuantiQ's ambitious M&A plans, Fenton explained.

"Thanks go to Mike for his support during the last 24 months in sales, and I look forward to working with him on his new focus of M&A activities in the UK, EMEA and US, as QuantiQ embarks on international expansion," he said.

Speaking of the business in general, Fenton said the future was bright.

"In 24 months we have grown this business to almost three times the run-rate revenue and headcount compared with the point of acquisition," he said. "We are growing faster than the market, and have created a nimble, profitable company, establishing a CRM business, and an analytics business. We are 80 per cent professional services and we are growing."
