Jeremy Butt lands at Mitel
After almost a decade at Avaya and Avaya distributor Westcon, Jeremy Butt has taken a top EMEA job at Avaya arch-foe Mitel
Former Avaya and Westcon big cheese Jeremy Butt has taken a top job at Avaya arch-rival Mitel.
Butt (pictured) was previously executive vice president of EMEA at Avaya distributor Westcon, and previously ran Avaya's global channels.
While Avaya is currently undergoing financial strife, having filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January, Mitel recently announced plans to acquire another of its rivals, ShoreTel, and claims to be the marketshare leader in Europe.
Based out of the UK, Butt has taken on the post of senior vice president of sales at Mitel and will report into Todd Abbott, Mitel executive vice president of global sales.
Abbott said: "Jeremy has been working for many years with customers in the region on every kind of technology deployment possible. There is no one better able to help them understand what it takes to modernise existing communications and chart a course to digital transformation."
