Excalibur sharpens IT focus with acquisition
Comms VAR makes fifth acquisition in seven years
Excalibur Communications has strengthened its presence in the education sector with the acquisition of MSP Techs4Educations.
The comms VAR said it will use the acquisition to bolster its offering to education institutions in the south, and will rebrand its own education practice to Techs4Education.
Excalibur has taken steps into the IT space over recent years, most recently with the acquisitions of Devision and Ntegra in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Excalibur CEO Peter Boucher said: "Techs4Education has a strong reputation for making sure its schools have reliable and effective IT solutions and, like Excalibur, believes in delivering only the highest levels of service.
"IT and communications is complicated for any organisation and particularly for schools.
"By joining forces with Techs4Education we can reach more schools and support them in harnessing the latest technology for effective classroom learning."
Techs4Education offers managed services and cloud services, as well as AV solutions.
Excalibur says the acquisition, its fifth in seven years, completes its transition from a mobile business to a managed tech partner.
Steve Worthington, CEO at Techs4education, added: "In Excalibur we have found a partner who shares our vision for technology in schools and can facilitate taking our offering to the next level.
"Our knowledge of the sector, combined with the depth of resources available from Excalibur, will enable us to broaden the IT and telecommunications solutions we provide to schools."
