Exclusive Networks makes second acquisition in two months

Security VAD enters another new geography after snapping up Canadian firm FineTec two weeks ago

Exclusive Networks has move into the Israeli market with the acquisition of SecureWave, an independent cybersecurity VAD based in Tel Aviv's so-called ‘Silicon Wadi'.

SecureWave distributes to around 250 resellers, SIs and service providers. Its major vendors are Fortinet, Nutanix and Infoblox, which Exclusive Group said are all "strategic to Exclusive's cyber and cloud transformation portfolios".

Its CEO Olivier Breittmayer said Exclusive Group's partners will benefit immediately from the shared vendor investment the acquisition brings.

"This acquisition is about more than just filling in the gaps of our EMEA footprint - it represents a fantastic opportunity to tap into a significant new local market and use our in-country presence to extend relationships with Israel-based technology innovators," he said.

SecureWave is the second acquisition of the year for Exclusive Group, and its second ever in the Middle East.

Eleven days ago, the Paris-based VAD expanded its North American footprint with Canadian distributor Fine Tec Canada.

In November 2013, Exclusive bought up Secureway, a security specialist distributor with 60 offices in Dubai and Riyadh.

SecureWave also marks the third acquisition for the group since it received a €1.3bn cash injection last April when it was acquired by Frankfurt-based private equity giant Permira.

At the time, Exclusive Group's former COO Barrie Desmond told CPI that the VAD is eyeing €10bn in sales "in the next five years".

Three months later, Exclusive entered the Irish market with its acquisition of Irish VAD NextGen.

Exclusive Group says its intention is to build "the world's biggest specialist VAD in cybersecurity and cloud transformation".

Exclusive boasts more than 50 offices across over 100 countries.
