Top VARs 2019: Profits bounce back for UK's top 100 resellers

Following several years in freefall, profit margins among the UK's top 100 resellers and MSPs stabilised and even rebounded slightly in their latest financial years on record.

After the currency headwinds stoked by the Brexit referendum wreaked havoc on bottom lines the previous year, the adjusted* average net profit margin among the 93 firms** whose net profits we are able to track rose from 2.90 per cent to 3.14 per cent this time around.

Of those 93 firms, just 17 made a net loss, compared with 19 the previous year.

The median net profit margin among these 93 firms stood at 1.85 per cent, compared with 1.72 per cent the previous year.

Whichever way you look at it, profits are on the rise again, albeit marginally.
