Content+Cloud takes first steps into US with latest acquisition
Acquisitive Microsoft partner wades into new territory with purchase of Sipcom
Microsoft partner Content+Cloud has entered the US market for the first time with the acquisition of Sipcom.
Sipcom is also a Microsoft Gold partner, and also counts HPE, Cisco and Oracle among its vendor partners. It specialises in collaboration and communication solutions. It is UK-headquartered, but with a global reach that provides Content+Cloud with its first presence in the US.
The acquisition of Sipcom marks Content+Cloud's (formerly known as IT Lab) fifth acquisition since private equity firm ECI Partners took a majority stake in the company in 2016. It claimed that the addition of Sipcom to the group brings its annualised revenues to £100m and bumps its headcount to 775.
Content+Cloud is ranked #61 in CRN's VAR 350 - up 15 places on last year's report with revenues of £71.8m.
"Over the last five years we have brought together some of the most exciting businesses within the Microsoft technology ecosystem, expanding on our market-leading cloud-native, Azure and Modern Workplace capabilities," stated Peter Sweetbaum, CEO of Content+Cloud.
"Teams is the most important collaboration platform in the market today and will be even more important for businesses over the coming years as new ways of working become the norm.
"Through the integration of third-party applications and services and the ability to utilise the power of Azure Cognitive Services and Microsoft Graph to surface rich content and provide deeper insight for customers, Teams will continue to be the most powerful front end to user experience."
Sipcom will be the unified communications and collaboration platform provider to Content + Cloud's customers.
Daniel Allen, CEO of Sipcom, added: "Sipcom has always punched above its weight as a business. Joining Content+Cloud is the next vital stage in realising our potential as the leading provider of enterprise voice and communication capabilities.
"Content+Cloud has a stellar reputation for implementing Microsoft technologies, helping their clients of all sizes to digitally transform and…accelerate user adoption. These factors made the joining of our two companies not only desirable, but inevitable. Together we now have the platform, the people, and the support to rapidly accelerate our collective growth."
