Google Cloud brings in former Dropbox exec as new UK and Ireland channel boss
Simon Aldous leaves Dropbox after five years to join Google Cloud UK & Ireland as director of partners and channels
Dropbox's former global head of channels has announced he has taken up a new role as Google Cloud's UK & Ireland director of partners and channels.
Simon Aldous spent more than five years at Dropbox but took to LinkedIn to announce he was making the move to tech giant Google.
"I am super excited to be starting my next adventure and joining the Google Cloud team at Google," he said.
"I look forward to working with the channel team, partners and our corporate sales team to best serve the needs of our customers and help drive evolution and transformation within their businesses."
He recently oversaw the merger of Dropbox's direct and indirect sales team to act as one commercial organisation and was employed in his last role for two-and-a-half years.
Google Cloud has made several changes to its leadership team of late, appointing executives from other tech giants Microsoft, Salesforce and SAP in September last year.
The company has gone from strength to strength in recent times, reporting a 47 per cent revenue growth during Q4 to $3.83bn.
