Stone Group hires head of sustainability in push towards net carbon zero

Sheryl Moore previously oversaw the sustainability strategy at Kier Group

Staffordshire-based reseller Stone Group has appointed its first head of sustainability in Sheryl Moore.

Moore joins the Microsoft and Cisco partner from construction firm Kier Group, where she oversaw the company's sustainability strategy.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Stone Group to lead the business on its journey to net carbon zero," Moore said.

"Stone is leading the charge when it comes to circular sustainability and building on this reputation to meet our green targets is exciting. With a hugely committed leadership team I have no doubt we will make rapid progress to achieve our goals."

Moore will lead the delivery of CSR, ESG and sustainability strategies and policy to ensure consideration for these areas is integrated throughout the business, Stone Group says.

The reseller claims that the newly created role will ensure it continues on its trajectory to net carbon zero, with a view to obtaining the PAS 2060 accreditation by 2030.

It follows the launch of its Stone360 app, which helps organisations to arrange the responsible disposal of IT waste.

"We are delighted to welcome Sheryl to the team," CEO Simon Harbridge said.

"Her extensive experience in social impact development and measurement, along with broader sustainability initiatives, will consolidate the fantastic progress we have made to date on many fronts and act as the catalyst to drive us forward to even greater heights.

"Sustainability is vital for us as a business, just as it is for our customers and vendor partners, and we're excited to see how far we can take this."
