Kyndryl names John Chambers to lead UK&I
An inside hire, Chambers was previously senior partner for Kyndryl’s customer advisory practice
IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl announced the appointment of John Chambers as its new country leader in the UK and Ireland.
The appointment underscores the company's commitment to modernising and managing the world's mission-critical systems and services and its own focus on a differentiated business to drive long-term growth, it said.
Chambers was previously senior partner for Kyndryl's customer advisory practice, where he played a part in progressing growth opportunities with customers and partners, advising and assisting them with designing and deploying advanced technology environments to tackle the increasing demands of a digital world.
Prior to this he was chief information officer at Lloyds Banking Group.
During his career, Chambers has been responsible for delivering large scale IT solutions, building teams that can operate at scale, and working as part of global operating environments.
The company outlined its strategic objectives for growth on three initiatives - Alliances, Advanced Delivery, and Accounts - for strong relationships with leading technology partners, enhanced service delivery through upskilling and automation, and proactively working with existing customers to reorient key accounts.
"Kyndryl continues to advance these initiatives. It has formed alliances with nearly 30 leading technology partners, and recently launched the new Kyndryl Bridge open integration platform and the Kyndryl Vital designer-led co-creation experience to transform delivery," the group said.
"Kyndryl has also recently expanded its consulting business to support customers as they grapple with complex technology environments."
Kyndryl Consult, which recently expanded its technology strategy and integration services, has access to a team of consultants, architects, specialists and programme professionals, will integrate with Kyndryl's recently announced initiatives, Kyndryl Bridge and Kyndryl Vital, to help speed up customers' migration to the cloud.
The former IBM spin-off announced last week a new five-year deal with marketing data & analytics company Kantar to optimise its IT infrastructure to meet changing and growing business demands and modernise the digital workplace environment and capabilities for more than 25,000 Kantar employees in more than 60 markets.
