Dell unveils new UK head honcho

Dell has a new UK supremo in the form of 20-year company veteran Steve Young.

Young replaces Dayne Turbitt, who left the vendor in February to join business planning vendor Anaplan.

Officially assuming his post on 31 January, Young has spent over 20 years at the vendor, most recently leading its global cloud partnerships with hyperscalers.

"It is an exciting time as organisations accelerate their digital transformation plans and build their digital futures. Having worked at Dell for over 20 years helping customers transform their businesses, I am thrilled to lead the UK through its next phase of innovation," Young said in a canned statement.

Young's appointment comes after Dell was forced to announce plans to slash 6,650 jobs in response to the deteriorating PC market, and confirmed the departure of two of its top-ranking EMEA executives.

The Texas-based vendor's revenues rose one per cent $102.3bn in 2022. Within that, Client Solutions Group revenues fell five per cent to $58.2bn (with Q4 revenues down 23 per cent), however.
