Ampito Group earns EcoVadis bronze medal for sustainability

Crawley-based reseller Ampito Group has achieved the bronze EcoVadis medal for its commitment to ethical business practices.

The £71.1m reseller's bronze medal places it in the top 35 per cent of companies assessed.

Ampito said it has managed to shrink its environmental footprint through energy efficiency initiatives, waste reduction programmes, and responsible sourcing of suppliers.

The group's approach to transparency and accountability also helped pave the way to this achievement.

"This accolade reaffirms our core values of integrity, transparency, and responsibility across all facets of our operations," the group said in a statement.

"Receiving the bronze EcoVadis Accolade is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team members, partners, and stakeholders. It serves as a powerful motivator, inspiring us to continue striving for excellence in all aspects of our business. As we pursue our mission, we remain committed to upholding our core values."

EcoVadis is a sustainability ratings provider that assesses businesses worldwide.

Its ratings are assigned to more than 130,000 companies, spanning over 180 countries and 220 industries.

EcoVadis medals are awarded to companies that have completed the assessment process and demonstrated a strong management system that meets the specified criteria.

The medals are awarded based on a company's percentile rank, which compares its performance with all rated companies in the database.

Ampito's European counterparts have also been making strides with EcoVadis recognition.

At the start of this year German reseller Bechtle earned EcoVadis gold status for its sustainability efforts for the first time after five years of achieving silver.

This placed Bechtle in the top two per cent of the IT companies assessed.

Meanwhile, Norwegian reseller Atea has been awarded the highest rating (top one per cent of 100,000 organisations globally) in environmental and social performance by EcoVadis from 2020-2022.
